Professor Selim Isbir  M.D.

He was born in Ankara in 1968.

In 1991, he graduated in top ten from Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University. He completed his speciality education at the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, Medical Faculty of Hacettepe University.

He served as clinical fellow to seek a higher post graduate education in adult cardiovascular surgery and heart transplant at the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of Mayo Clinic in the U.S.A. between 1997 – 1998.

In 1998, he started to work in the department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Medical Faculty at Marmara University, being actively involved in the establishment of this department. He received the title Assistant Professor in 1999 and Associate Professor in 2003. Between 2003-2006, he served as the head of the department of Cardiovascular Surgery,  at Medical Faculty, Marmara University.

Receiving the title of Professor in 2009, Dr. Selim Isbir served as the chief physician at Marmara University Hospital between April 2009 and May 2010.

He took part in a number of scientific meeting both at home and abroad and also published several articles and presentations in peer reviewed journals. He is particularly specialized in minimal invasive surgery, Aortic and Coronary Artery Bypass surgery, heart valve disorders surgery (Aorta, Mitral and Tricuspid), Congestive Heart Failure  surgery and endovascular repair of major aortic aneurysms.

Professor Selim İsbir is currently working at İstanbul Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital.
